On Tuesday, April 30th, at around 4pm, anarchists Yannis Naxakis and Grigoris Sarafoudis were arrested on Dekeleias avenue in the district of Nea Filadelfeia, as they were coming out of a cafeteria. They were charged with past robbery cases on the basis of ‘findings’ from DNA samples that were forcibly taken by them.
In july 2014 at the trial, while the prosecution admitted during the hearing that there was no evidence of guilt concerning the accused comrades Grigoris Sarafoudis and Giannis Naxakis, because anyway guilt was implied in the indictment “You cannot ignore the fact that the defendants are related to the anti-authoritarian, anarchist movement”!
The TERROR COURT rejected the request for attenuating Grigoris Sarafoudis and imposed the same sentence as Giannis Naxakis with the following sentences:
- 10 years for robbery
- 6 years for participation in a terrorist organization (C.C.F.)
- 5 years for stealing a car
– 2 years for possession of guns.
After the merger, a total of 16 years imprisonment for each. In 2017 Yannis Naxakis was released after an appellate court.
